The Course

This 18 – hole championship course is a natural beauty designed by golf course designer, Mike Young.

Players will be treated to visually stunning layouts. Many holes are bordered by mature live oak trees draped in Spanish moss. Towering pine and magnolia trees and pristine wetlands offer more beauty and challenge. Many holes require accuracy over length and a delicate touch around the undulating greens. With five sets of tees the course yardage ranges from 6595 at its longest to 4726 from the forward tees. The course receives consistently great reviews about its condition, affordability and positive overall experience.

Henderson Golf Club in Savannah, GA is owned and operated by Chatham County and is open to the public. A variety of fee structures are offered. With ID, Seniors 60+, and active military can enjoy greater savings with our Select Rate fee structure. Course Rules

USGA Rules govern all play except for posted Local Rules.
Always observe proper golf etiquette including…
Pace of Play – 2:05 per nine holes or 4:10 for eighteen holes. Permit faster players to play through.
Fivesomes are not permitted and each player must have their own clubs.
Fix all ball marks and fill all divots with sand provided on the golf cart.
To comply with Georgia State Liquor Laws and to protect the café’s liquor license, outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the golf course or club property.
Keep carts on paths around tees and greens.
Carts remain on paths on all par threes, and hole #2.
All fences that border the property and power lines are considered immovable obstructions.

Hole 1

Your round starts with a par 5 with decisions to be made on your 2nd shot. Stay away from water on the left but beware of OB to the right. The large green has two tiers so premium is placed on hitting a good shot to get close.

Hole 2

This short par 4 may not require a long drive but it's important to keep your tee shot straight to have a chance to chip on and putt for a birdie.

Hole 5

This challenging hole is lined with water on the left and trees along the right side of the fairway. Place your drive well or you may take a bogey or worse on this par four.

Hole 6

Your first hit is long off the tee on this lengthy par four. The fairway is generously wide but even with a following wind the length makes this hole challenging.

Hole 7

From the tee you will enjoy the view on this par three. Water lines the right side and guards the green. If the pin is on the right it's easy to get suckered.

Hole 8

This par 5 can be deceptively difficult. Weigh the risks and rewards when hitting to the green as water on the right side of the fairway and guarding the right side of the elevated green has drowned more than a few golf balls.

Hole 9

Bring your A game for your drive and second shot in when playing this par four. The green is guarded by water left and a deep bunker right, so take dead aim and hit it straight.

Hole 10

Water borders left side of the fairway and can swallow up tee shots on this par four if they are hit too far left. The fairway is fairly wide and size of the green is generous. Relax and enjoy.

Hole 11

Choose your club wisely off the tee to get a clear view of the green on this hole which doglegs hard left. Feel good if you card a par on this deceptively difficult par four.

Hole 12

A good drive is essential on this subtle right dogleg par four. Favor the left side to get your best shot to the elevated green.

Hole 13

This straightforward par 4 should be fairly easy to navigate. The large green slopes significantly from back to front placing a premium on correct distance on your shot in.

Hole 14

Another hard dogleg left makes this short par four a good test. If you avoid the water that guards the right side of the elevated green you have a good chance to make four.

Hole 15

Be accurate on your yardage on this short par three. Beware of the two tiered green which can make for difficulty if your shot is on the lower tier and the hole is set on the upper front tier.

Hole 16

The tee shot on this par 5 needs to avoid water on the right. A well placed tee shot can set up a clear shot toward the small elevated green which is well bunkered on left and right.

Hole 17

This straightforward par three is made difficult by the narrow, long green which slopes from back to front. Avoid the bunkers left and right, choose the right club and walk away with a birdie or par.

Hole 18

The visual presentation of this hole, par four signature hole might cause some hesitation when you arrive at the tee. Water left borders the entire hole and the green appears somewhat island-like as water appears on the right when considering the second shot. An excellent finishing hole by anyone's standard. Lefty says "Take it from me, please don’t pet the alligators."
